BT Webb and Kent Madison, cheerleaders for Western Kentucky University, were substantially injured in a car crash May 3rd. Unfortunately, the injuries were life altering. Webb was paralyzed from the neck down and Madison from the waist down. Bowling Green High School has offered to help raise funds for costly medical bills to help ease the burden of hospital care.
Working with the Bowling Green High School cheerleaders, Western Kentucky University Cheer Coach Tom Jones is holding a cheerleading clinic at 5:30 PM on July 21st. Entry fee is $30, and is going to a great cause.
If you are in the Bowling Green area and can lend your time or your checkbook, please consider registering for the clinic or making a donation. Contact 791-1751 or e-mail robinjloid@gmail.com for further information.
Donations can be made to the following address:

Virgina Tech has announced their Fall Tryout date, to be held August 26 from 7:00-9:00 PM and August 27 from 7:00-8:00 PM. Tryouts take place in the Rector Field House.
Tryout requirements are listed below, and seem pretty typical. One thing that is pretty interesting is the focus on motion technique. I can't remember the last time that I saw motions as a part of tryouts, but hey, if that's what they want, make sure you prepare!
Ladies

-
Toe Touch Tuck
-
Standing series pass
-
Running series pass ending with a tuck or better

Guys

- Both tryouts (Spring & Fall) are based on Skills Evaluations
-

If you think you have what it takes, check out the necessary forms and get 'em filled out.
Good Luck!

Dani Ruoff, three-year coach of the Montana State-Billings University Cheerleaders and graduate of that university, has decided to move to the next phase of her collegiate coaching career and takeover the head cheerleading coach position at Kansas State University.
Ruoff, a 20-year veteran of cheerleading, has already made great contributions to the sport by starting the Montana Cheer and Dance Coaches Association.
It is assumed that Ruoff will be replacing current head coach, Al Enlow, but it is not apparent on their website how the two will be related. (http://www.kstatespirit.com/coaches.asp).
For more about KSU cheerleading, contact (785) 532-7983 or cheer@ksu.edu.
Good luck, Coach Ruoff and congratulations!
